Salam,

A quotation from Aidid Safar in his website AIDIDSAFAR.COM. Mental Bondage is the result of years of deep reflection about Islam, and is written with the primary objective of understanding the reason for the failure of the Muslims and the widespread hostility among non-Muslims – including secular Westerners, Hindus and Jews – against Islam. I have come to realise – and will prove by reference to the Qur’an itself – that such prejudice is not misplaced. It might surprise the reader that those who claim to be the ‘Muslims’ are professing what is, in fact, an invented Arab religion. Perhaps they deserve the incessant suffering and humiliation, which they are subjected to, until and unless they return to the one true God. By presenting a more accurate picture of real Islam, this book exposes a great falsehood and reveals a greater truth – both of which may otherwise have remained hidden.

In one of his column Aidid Safar said people do not realise that simple words like fi-hi (which means inside it) bi (which means with), ilaa (which means to or towards), minal which means (from the), and li (which means for) and a few others have had their meanings twisted or ignored in certain contexts by the gatekeepers of the Arab religion. These words are often appended to a verb as a prefix, but they make a lot of difference. For example, people fail to think carefully of the significance of fi-hi (inside it) in the following context: Inside it (fi-hi) there are clear signs (ayatun bai-inatun) about the status of Abraham, (maqami ibrohim) and whoever enters it is secured. And it is the incumbent duty of mankind to take the challenge (Hajuu) to the system (bayti) for those who can find their way. And whoever disbelieves, surely God is self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds. (3:97) The words fi-hi mean in the context, ‘in the bayta there are Clear Signs (ayatun-bai-natun) about the status of Abraham (maqamu ibrohim) and whoever enters it will find security’. Aidid Safar further said If the word bayta truly meant a house then, logically, we have: ‘In the house there are clear signs about the status of Abraham’. Can the religionists or the u’lema prove to the world that there are clear signs about the status of Abraham inside the cube structure standing in the middle of their mosque? No, they cannot. But what they will show us instead is a piece of copper in a gilded cage standing outside the house where their imagination apparently left a footprint.

For the benefit of all, here is the full Surah 3:96-97 with relevant Arabic words insert in bracket besides the translated English words:-

Surah 3(96) The first House (baytin) appointed for men was that at Bakkata (bi Bakkata): Full of blessing (mubarakan) and of guidance for all kinds of beings: 3(97) In it (fi hi) are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it (fi hi) attains security; Pilgrimage thereto (hijjul baiti) is a duty men owe to Allah, those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures.

To verify whether Aidid Safar’s belief what he said that ‘in the bayta there are Clear Signs (ayatun-bai-natun) about the status of Abraham (maqamu ibrohim) and whoever enters it will find security’ is true or a falsehood one can easily check it with evidences from other supporting verses of the Quran.

The Arabic Quran is specific if Surah 3:97 “fi hi” or “in it” is describing the “bayta” then the Arabic cannot be “fi hi” it should be “fi ha” as shown in theses verses in Surah 24:27-28 O ye who believe! Enter not (buyutan) other than your own, until ye have asked permission….. If ye find no one in (fi ha) {referring to buyutan}, enter not. Here anyone can see when the Quran speaks of “buyutan” it refers it as feminine gender so the word “fi ha” and not “fi hi” is used. And in another example at Surah 2:189 It is no virtue if ye enter your (Albuyuta) from the back (min zhuhuri ha). It is virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter (Albuyuta) through the proper doors (min abwabi ha): And fear Allah: That ye may prosper. Thus in both the examples given the Arabic Quran refers “bayta” in the feminine gender or “fi ha” and being such one can say that Aidid Safar claimed that “fi hi” is referred to the “bayta” is an obvious falsehood! Thus “fi hi” or “in it” can only refer to the place Bakkata and not Bayta. Therefore the verse at Surah 3:97 should read as follows: In it (fi hi) should refers to Bakkata) are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it (Bakkata) attains security; Pilgrimage thereto (to the Bayta in Bakkata) is a duty men owe to Allah, those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures. Thus with these evidences from the Quran “fi hi” cannot be connected to the word “Bayta” and as such the “maqam Ibrahim” should not be in it or the fact is that nothing should in the  “Bayta” at all.  In spite of this ruling in the Arabic Quran Aidid Safar still claimed “in the bayta there are Clear Signs (ayatun-bai-natun) about the status of Abraham (maqamu ibrohim) and whoever enters it (the Bayta) will find security’? He actually contradicted the message of the Quran that nothing in those verses should be in the “Bayta”!

Now let us see the evidences in the Quran of the other Arabic word that is related to the “Bayta” it is the Arabic word “bi Bakkata” in Surah 3:96 but Aidid Safar claimed the Arabic “bi” to him means “with” but to prove the Arabic Quran does not support his idea, here are evidences from the Quran showing in Surah 3:96 “bi” is “in” and not “with”. It says here in the Quran Moses was commanded by Allah in Surah 10:87 “Provide “buyutan” for your people in Egypt (biMisr). Here the verse shows “Bayta” is tangible or physical and being tangible it is correctly linked to the Arabic “bi” is located in an area called Misr or “bi Misr”. Thus this again proved that “Bayta” cannot be a “system” as claimed by Aidid Safar because if “Bayta” is a system it is something intangible therefore it cannot easily be described as none can touch or see it and therefore it cannot be localized. Another proof with example in the word “bi” is in Surah 48:24 your hands from them in the midst of Makkata (bi batni Makkata). This verse also shows “bi” is “in” not “with” which give description they were in the “middle of the town of Makkah” and therefore both these verses at Surah 10:87 and Surah 48:24 support the Surah 3:96 “The first “Bayta” appointed for men was that “in” and not “with” Bakkata”.

With the above verses supporting “Bayta” as a physical identity and Bakkata as a location of an area full of blessing (mubarakan) leads to support the traditional meaning that “Bayta” is a physical house located in Bakkata the blessed area in Surah 3:96 where pilgrimage to this blessed area is a duty men owe to Allah those who can afford it. It is therefore not the House (Bayta) which is found the Maqamu Ibrahim but the blessed area of Bakkata when whoever enters it attains security.

Aidid Safar further said the baytien in 3:96-97 refers to a system, not a house and we can find in this system (baytien) the clear signs (ayataun bai-inatun) of Abraham’s status (maqamu ibrohim) who was totally committed to the deen. Whoever embraces this system is secure. All humans are expected to take the challenge (Hajuu) to the system. They must try and to make their way to it. For the sake of argument, if the word bayta actually meant a physical house and the Haj meant pilgrimage we would be confronted with a very serious problem. Each and every one of the 2,000,000 people who perform the ‘pilgrimage’ today must squeeze into the house to observe and sanctify the spot where Abraham stood for his ritual prayer. If this is the case, then the house the religionists have put up needs major reconstruction. It will also mean that if the number of Muslims increases, they will have to renovate God’s house in order to accommodate the new faithful. As it stands, God’s present ‘house’ can comfortably hold a couple of hundred at most. That’s right. All the Sunnis and Shiites from every corner of the globe would have to squeeze into the ‘Ka’aba’ to achieve security. This is both illogical and impossible, but this is exactly what happens when we take the magnanimity of God’s ideals and equate them with the pettiness of people’s physical world. The result: an idol smack in the centre of a house of worship.

As had been explained in the previous paragraph that “fi hi” cannot refer to “Bayta” in Surah 3:96-97 it can only refers to the area “Bakkata” and as such one can deduce that the idea of 2 million people cannot be squeezed into the “House” the “Kaabah” is actually Aidid Safar own imagination and that is how he formulated his own idea to translate “Bayta” is a ”system” which is proven a fabrication. The Muslims all the while never claimed the pilgrimage is to go into the “Square Building” it has always been pilgrimage to Bakkata which is an area in Makkata the area blessed by Allah. Not the whole city of Makkata is blessed but only parts of the area which Allah had mentioned an area fringed by two mosques as stated in Surah 17:1 Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless. The landmark for the Sacred Mosque is where the House or the Kaabah is located while the landmark for the Farthest Mosque is where the Sacred Monument is located in a place called Arafat as stated in Surah 2:198 It is no crime in you if ye seek of the bounty of your Lord (during pilgrimage). Then when ye pour down from (Mount) Arafat, celebrate the praises of Allah at the Sacred Monument, and celebrate His praises as He has directed you, even though, before this, ye went astray. The distant between the Sacred Mosque where the Kaabah is towards the Farthest Mosque where the Sacred Monument is at Arafat is approximately 21 KM and a camel ride during the Prophet’s time will take roughly four or four and a half hours traveling at a speed of 5 KM per hour. This is the blessed area of Bakkata and it can and has accommodated a few millions pilgrims so far. From these evidences in the Quran we can resolve that Aidid Safar not only fabricated the Arabic word “Bayta” to mean “system” but he added the “Maqamu Ibrahim” inside his “system” which it should not be there in the first place. Then he fabricated “in Bakkata” to mean “with tears” if I am not mistaken but whatever word he fabricated to “Bi Bakkata” to mean “with” anything  word not meaning a “place” or “location” it will not be supported by any other verses in the Quran. And how he can convince others whoever enter his “system” will be secure is rather perplexing!

Aidid Safar further said the religionists say those who worship God through images or icons are the pagans and idol-worshippers. Though quick to condemn and criticise others, the Arab religionists have never considered that they themselves do exactly the same. They also say the followers of other religions are pagans and idol-worshippers when they walk around their stone idols in their temples or around their temples. They do not pause to realise they are doing the same. The Reading tells us that it is not that their eyes that are blind, but their hearts. Hindus, for example, walk seven times in an anti-clockwise circle around a lingam – or stone idol – at the centre of their temple. Hindus have been doing this for much longer than the religionists.

Here one can see how ignorant of Aidid Safar on the religion of Islam. In brief the Hindus believe that there is one true god, the supreme spirit, called Brahman. Brahman has many forms, pervades the whole universe, and is symbolized by the sacred syllable Om (or Aum). Most Hindus believe that Brahman is present in every person as the eternal spirit or soul, called the atman. However there is a different, Allah in the Quran described Himself as is stated in Surah 112 Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He beget not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him. The House (Kaabah) and the station of Ibrahim located on the blessed land Bakkata in Makkata is the designated location for pilgrimage without it none will visit an empty desert town. In addition it was made to be a common direction for all Muslims all over the world and still without it there will be tussle as to which direction to face. The Hindus have images of their gods in all their temples for them to face while the Christians have the cross in every church for them to face as direction. However Muslims do not have any image in their mosques or in their houses anyway in the world but only one an image of a House and a Mosque located in Bakkata which do not represents the image of Allah. To face this direction is called Qiblat and there is command by Allah to face towards this direction as stated in Surah 2:144 We see the turning of thy face (for guidance to the heavens: now Shall We turn thee to a Qibla that shall please thee. Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction. Further when one is in the Sacred Mosque it is not wrong to face the House (Kaabah) as there is the same directive to Moses as stated in Surah 10:87 We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: “Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into (qiblatan), and establish regular prayers: and give glad tidings to those who believe!” So facing towards a certain direction comes from a command of Allah and in addition Aidid Safar had no right to accuse Muslims circling around the House as idolatry as Allah says it is not a sin as stated in Surah 2:158 Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if those who visit the House in the Season or at other times should compass them round, it is no sin in them. So it is glaring in his quest Aidid Safar is not looking for the truth instead he is fabricating the Quran to what he fancied.

Aidid Safar also said to conceal the conspiracy they continue to distort the meaning of the word Haram to become sacred. The non-Arab Muslims around the world had never confronted the religionists with a simple question: how did a rock structure renovated as recently as 2003 become sacred? Which part of the building is actually sacred? They will soon discover it is not the square structure proper that is sacred, but the small black stone (or Hajar aswad) worshiped by their forefathers, that is sacred. The word Hajar aswad used in reference to the black stone is nowhere to be found in the Reading. But the religionists say it is part of Islam. The Arabs have successfully reinstated their true stone deity of black basaltic rock as the focus of worship in Mecca to carry the torch of their forefathers’ religion, a pagan community.

It is correct the Hajar Aswat is not found in the Quran and there is no command to kiss the stone but it is used as a location point to start and finish the circling of the House which is not a sin as stated in Surah 2:158. Nevertheless it is not only the complete building of the House (Kaabah) but also the whole mosque is sacred and more which is of the area going right down to Arafat in Surah 2:198 because the House and the Mosque or the Sacred Monument is all located in the blessed area Bakkata and that is the reason all the entities are considered sacred. However just for Aidid Safar information, the word sacred is spelt and pronounced in Arabic without the “shadda” as in Surah 2:144 Sacred (Alharami), Surah 5:2 Violate not the sanctity of the symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred (Alharama) month or in Surah 29:67 We have made a sanctuary (haraman) secure while prohibited is spelt and pronounced with the “shadda” as in Surah 2:173 He hath only forbidden (harrama can he see the difference of the double ‘r’) you dead meat, another example with the double ‘r’ or “shadda” is in Surah 5:22 Whoever joins other gods with Allah, Allah will forbid (harrama) him the garden and Surah 7:32 Say: Who hath forbidden (harrama) the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He hath produced for His servants. So there is no distortion of the meaning of all the words disputed by Aidid Safar but it was his own idea to pollute the meaning of the Quran according to his whims and fancies.

In conclusion he should realized that with the evidences given against him he had been proven intentionally deceptive instead of exposing what he claimed “an invented Arab religion” he had created a “cult” and himself an idol all for the wrong reason! Here what is described of such a person as stated in Surah 2:78-79 And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say: “This is from Allah to traffic with it for miserable price! Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.
